I am absolutely up to my ears in drapes! When we moved into our new house (that is covered in windows) I said, "OH, I can save us a lot of money and make all the drapes!" Well, I had no idea what I was getting myself into. They are a whole different ballgame when comparing it to making clothes! It is just a TON of fabric to work with. Anyway, although I have done a lot of complaining along the way it was totally worth all the many hours and hours of work when I walked in our bedroom and saw them hanging. Now I just have to finish the drapes for the 4 other windows in our room. Ahhhhhhh!

Way to go Mimi! I am so proud of your work....you are right, it is VERY different sewing drapes....it's like sewing on a football field! They look great.....love to you, Jane B
I was your guinea pig with my drapes and now you get to perfect your technique at your house. They look gorgeous. Love the colors!
Hey Mimi! I saw your drapes and just had to tell you about when my mom made drapes for our house. I was about 3 or 4. Mom was making green drapes for the house, and she had worked day and night on them for about 3 months. Well, the day she hung them up, I cut them across with the scissors. Can't remember why I did it, just remember that she was soo mad that she had to leave the house to get away from me. Thankfully, Maggie looks like she is little enough to not know about scissors yet....
